The Importance of the Thyroid for Weight loss


The thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland located on the front of your neck, right below your Adam’s apple. The function of this gland is to collect iodine which is found in different foods.  The thyroid then converts iodine into thyroid hormones i-e  triiodothyronine hormone which is also known as T3. It also produces thyroxine hormone (main hormone), also known as T4. These hormones control numerous activities as well as assist in weight loss in the body by releasing these hormones into the blood stream.  Theses hormones regulates how fast you can burn calories, compliments the metabolic process, controls the body temperature, heart rate and weight loss.


Condition of an impaired Thyroid

Hypothyroidism is a disease in which your thyroid is inactive or doesn’t produces enough thyroid hormones which negativity impacts weight loss.   It slows down many of your bodily functions like your metabolism and heart rate. Get fat:

Intaking of insufficient fat and cholesterol results in an imbalanced thyroid hormone. You should take healthful fats like fish, olive oil, flax seeds, nuts, nuts butter and coconut milk products.

Micronutrient Intake:

Excessive  intake of  micronutrients and minerals can also be the cause of thyroid disease. You should not take inordinate amount of food having vitamin D, Iron, Iodine, Vitamin A and B.
